Well, now that the turkey has been demoted to left over, the Christmas season is officially underway. Our first shows of the season have all been a raging success. Thanks to all the performers. We are still getting shows so keep checking the calendar and watching for emails for upcoming performances.
Please note that the calendar has been updated through Christmas. This is always a busy time for us so keep checking back for updates.
Post below and let us know what songs or acts you are working on for Christmas. We are excited to see all the new numbers!
There was much applause. There were many laughs. There were friendships forged. There were audiences amused. There were fire alarms.
But now Beauty and the Beast has come to a successful end.
We want to thank everyone who helped make our fall production such a huge success. We have had so many positive reviews.
We are very proud of the entire cast for working so hard and under such a strict and fast timeline. It is truly amazing that you were able to pull off a full production in such a short period of time.
Hello All! Just 3 more weeks!!!!!
Practices:
Practice schedule for the week….no practice during the week. Saturday practice is as follows:
10:00 Silly Girls, Gaston, Belle, Lefou
11:00 All castle people
12:00 Everyone else
Please, please, please be at practice on Saturday. There are 2 scenes that we are going to do that we have not done yet. I know that we all have many things on calendars and are trying to get alot done in a little bit of time. So, please understand, that if someone is absent that is in the two scenes we will be doing on Saturday, I will have to move forward without them being in that particular scene. I do need to know soon if you have any conflicts with Saturday’s practice.
Fingers crossed, we will be working with some set this weekend and additional props. We will also be doing some costume fittings.
I am reserving Sunday practice for the scenes that need the most work. I will announce that on Saturday.
We may run practices during the week of the 14th -18th for select scenes. Again, on an as needed basis.
Saturday, September 19th, practice will run 10-4:30 as well. This day will be dress rehearsal. It is absolutely mandatory that everyone be at practice all day. It will be a tremendous hardship for participants and directors if everyone is not present.
No practice on Sunday September 20th.
Practice the 21st through the 24th, 5:30 to 8:30. Again, absolutely mandatory you be at those practices. We will testing microphones, setting spot lights, working with the complete set.
Tickets and Sales Contest:
We have already sold 600 tickets for the Friday school shows. Parents, ask your child’s teachers (especially preschool, elementary and middle) if they are planning on attending the performances. They need to call Scott at 366-1245 and reserve their seats soon. We are expecting a sell out! If your teacher would like to see how the play relates to Standards, I have some information, let me know. School performances are only $3.00! The shows are at 9:00 and 1:00. If you have a contact with the Rogers School District or the Pea Ridge School district, please talk to them about attending our show or contacting me.
How many tickets have you sold for Saturday’s shows? Don’t forget about the contest. The person who turns in the most ticket sale money on Saturday wins 10% of ALL ticket sales that day!!!! If you need more tickets, let me know.
Advertising
Are you talking it up? Hung a flyer at the library, church, school, community board, parent’s work? There was an article on us in the Benton County Record today. It was advertised in the Kid’s Directory this month, and hopefully it’s been sent to hundreds of your email contacts. Don’t forget places like community what’s up info on websites, like the local radio and tv. How about Facebook? Anywhere else I haven’t thought of?
Props
As of right now, the props I’m looking for is a settee for Belle’s bedroom, a nice highback chair for the Beast, and 2 dining room table chairs. All very castle looking! and if anyone has a suit of armor that would be great!
Happy labor day to everyone. We hope you are having a fun and safe time whatever you are doing today.
I just wanted to take a second and thank all the parents who have helped us out so far. Building, painting, sewing, etc… It is a huge help knowing we have additional hands to rely on to get this done!
Thank you!
We only have 4 weeks left before show time! Everyone needs to keep working hard. It is time to be off book as much as possible… that means you should have your lines and your songs memorized as much as possible. If you are having trouble with any of the sections we have learned so far, let us know and we will work it out!
I am very proud of everyone who performed at the church on Saturday. It was a wonderful day and we had so many people ask about the program. Keep up the great work!
The Bentonville Square was alive with the sound of music on Saturday, August 15th. The Arkansas Kids performed from 9 – 11 at an event hosted by the American Legion. We had many veterans as well as some of our newest members performing.
Everyone did a great job and it was loads of fun!
Thanks to the American Legion for asking us to perform!
If you have pictures of the event please let us know!
See you today at the legion! 1:30 – 4:30
